Homa Europe explores the relationship between design, artificial intelligence and human relevance through a new editorial feature with Yves Béhar
Technology is changing how products are imagined, developed and manufactured. Yet greater capability does not automatically create greater relevance.
In a new article from Homa Europe’s Design section, we explore why design must continue to begin with human needs — even as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly present across research, engineering and industrial development.
The article introduces an open conversation with internationally recognised designer Yves Béhar, originally produced and published in Homa Design Magazine, recently recognised with an iF Design Award.
Béhar reflects on design as a catalyst for change, the role of AI as a tool rather than a substitute for human judgement, the importance of multidisciplinarity and the value of hard work in transforming ideas into reality.
His perspective also offers a timely reflection for modern industry and OEM manufacturing: technology can expand what companies are capable of creating, but design helps determine what is worth creating and why it should matter to people.
The feature includes perspectives from Michael Yao, CEO of Homa Appliances; Simon Wu, Senior Vice President, R&D; and Federico Rebaudo, General Manager of Homa Europe, connecting human-centred design with manufacturing, innovation, brand identity and food preservation.
